Sword Codify design, build and support software applications (apps) for mobile, web and desktop platforms. We’ve completed hundreds of successful projects over the last 20 years – helping our customers build internal bespoke systems or bringing new commercial software products to life. We’re experts in Microsoft .NET and take an engineered approach to creating secure, efficient and adaptable software.
At Sword Codify, we are a close-knit team who support one another. We work on a diverse range of projects across multiple sectors.
We take a team approach to projects and encourage all staff regardless of their level of experience to ask for and offer support. As everyone involved in our projects is technical, we have strong technical leadership throughout Sword Codify.
Our engineers share their expertise to guide you through your software journey. You’ll get the chance to work directly with customers and gain valuable hands-on experience of building software, with a down-to-earth and approachable team. It’s the perfect opportunity to put those years of hard work and study into practice!
We have a flexible approach and adapt as much as possible when things crop up. We have our core hours where we ask employees to be available, but at the same time respect that flexibility is sometimes the name of the game.
Sword Codify have big plans for the future and are looking for talented software engineers to join our team. You don’t need to already know C# and .NET – what matters is that you understand the fundamentals of computer science, have an aptitude for technical problem solving and get a kick out of creating great code and user interfaces.
We use technologies such as WPF, Aurelia, Xamarin and UWP and use .NET in them all. It is a great technology that is only getting better since the introduction of the cross-platform, open-source and MIT-licensed .NET Core. It is a great time to be a .NET coder.
Based in the centre of Aberdeen, you’ll join our team of over 20 software engineers who build new applications and support existing ones. We take an engineer-led approach to our projects which means that you are fully involved in decisions throughout. You’ll also be in regular contact with our customers so good communication skills are essential too.
Having a happy team means a lot to us – we aim to be the best workplace in town for software engineers. We are a friendly bunch and encourage knowledge sharing and helping each other out. We believe in a good work-life balance and set up our projects to succeed from the outset. This means that overtime hardly ever happens (and when it does it truly is optional).
You’ll be paid a competitive salary and enjoy great staff benefits. Once you’ve settled in, you can tailor your working hours around our core hours of 10am-4pm.
We encourage a good work/life balance with a ‘work hard, play hard’ attitude. We are big on teambuilding and are known to take part in activities. Canoeing, paintballing, escape rooms and that’s just to name a few!
We’re known for a group walk down the beach or a picnic on nice evenings. And we are partial to the ‘odd’ Friday evening trip to the pub too! We encourage the social side of work by allocating the last half hour of Fridays for socialising. We use our basement breakout room stocked up with snacks and drinks and enjoy good banter! This is a fun way to end the week and catch up with each other.
Please apply through online through our LinkedIn advert using your most up-to-date CV.
As part of the application process we’ll set you a small programming challenge – it shouldn’t take much more than an hour to complete. If you’re like us then you’ll enjoy the challenge and the chance to show us your skills!
We look forward to hearing from you!
